What are SUN Bucks?

Who Should Apply?
Families that are not automatically enrolled should apply for SUN Bucks directly.
Note: Families will be automatically enrolled in SUN Bucks if they are already enrolled in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), or FDPIR (Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations) benefits or meet the requirements for free or reduced-price school meals. In other words, keep an eye out for $120 per child at the beginning of summer!

Deadlines: Apply by April 15, 2025, to be eligible for the first issuance of benefits in May. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until August 31, 2025.

Please do not use the Davis Horseshoe Drive before school begins and during the afternoon (2:45-3:15). This is for the safety of the children while the buses are unloading and loading students.

Michigan Compiled Law (MCL) 380.1293 requires post-graduation informational packets to be provided to pupils in grades 8-12. By no later than October 1, the local superintendent or chief administrator, as applicable, must provide in electronic or non-electronic form the Post-Graduation Opportunities Informational Packet found on the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity Pathfinder page. The packet is for each pupil enrolled in any of grades 8-12 in the local public school district, both traditional public school district or public-school academy, intermediate school district, or nonpublic school.
