  • Announcements for 3/12/2020

     

    • Career Camp applications are available for students in grades 6-8. Please pick them up in the main office or outside of Miss Christoferson’s office. Applications must be submitted as soon as possible to be able to participate in the program of your choice. You may turn applications and payment to the main office or to Miss Christoferson.
    • Seniors may pick up their senior shirt order form in the office. All orders are due back in the office by Tuesday, March 17th.
    • Attention all seniors: If you are a resident of Cass County, stop by the Guidance Office and pick up a scholarship application for the Cass County Community Policing Scholarship Program. Eight $500 scholarships are awarded each year. Applicant’s field of study does not have to include law enforcement. Deadline for filing applications is April 10th. Also, the Lucas Luth Scholarship is available in Ms. Christoferson’s office.
    • The Decatur Youth Group is seeking responsible students who understand the basic rules of baseball and softball to serve as umpires for the upcoming season. You will earn money for umpiring. Any student interested in being an umpire can sign up in the office.
    • Practice for junior high baseball and junior high softball will begin on Monday, March 16th after school. You must have a sports physical on file in order to participate.
    • The Van Buren County Bar Association is holding a Law Day Video Contest. High School students are asked to submit a 30-60 second video creatively incorporating the 19th 1st place prize is $500, 2nd place is $300, and 3rd place is $200. If you are interested in participating in this event, please stop by the office to pick up a contest packet.

     

     

    • Today I would like to recognize Arika Hemenway for demonstrating excellence. Arika was nominated by a staff member for demonstrating excellence in the classroom and in her after-school job. Arika displays a strong work ethic and completes each job to the best of her ability. Arika has made a nice addition to our senior class. On behalf of the students and staff of Decatur Jr. Sr. High School, I would like to thank Arika Hemenway for making our school excellent!
